National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) is one of Taiwan’s leading research universities (https://ocean.nsysu.edu.tw/?Lang=en). Located along the scenic Kaohsiung coastline—Taiwan’s lively “Southern Capital”—NSYSU offers a unique blend of natural beauty and urban convenience. The university overlooks both mountains and the beach, and the city of 2.7 million offers excellent international access through Kaohsiung International Airport, a comprehensive public transit system, and a diverse array of cultural and culinary experiences.

The College of Marine Sciences has been a nationally supported center of excellence since the 1980s, strategically located near the seaport and the open ocean. NSYSU also operates an 800-ton research vessel (https://or3.nsysu.edu.tw/?Lang=en), which supports oceanographic research and education.

The Department of Oceanography is seeking one to two tenure-track faculty members specializing in Marine Geology/Geophysics/Sedimentology/Biogeochemistry or Marine Biology/Ecology/Biological Oceanography.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

1.      A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline. Recent Ph.D. recipients should have at least two years of postdoctoral experience.

2.      A minimum of two years of combined doctoral and postdoctoral research conducted outside Taiwan.

3.      Ability to teach in both Mandarin and English.

4.      A strong record of research publications.

Rank and salary will be based on the candidate’s experience and achievements. Positions will be open until filled.
