(1) Five-Year Bachelor's and Master's Degree Program
Undergraduate students in their second semester of junior year or first semester of senior year may apply for the five-year bachelor's and master's degree program according to the "National Sun Yat-sen University Five-Year Bachelor's and Master's Degree Program Regulations." Those who pass the Department of Oceanography Five-Year Bachelor's and Master's Degree Program Application Regulations selection will obtain pre-graduate student status. Students who formally obtain master's program graduate student status may apply for credit transfer for graduate courses taken during their undergraduate period; however, graduate courses that have already been counted toward undergraduate graduation credits cannot be applied for master's program credit transfer.
(2) Master's Program Screening and Examination Admission
The Department of Oceanography Master's Program has Division A (Marine Biology) and Division B (Physical Oceanography, Geology, and Chemistry). ◎ Graduates from public or private universities registered with the Ministry of Education in Taiwan, or from foreign universities recognized by the Ministry of Education, who have obtained a bachelor's degree or are expected to graduate from a bachelor's program; or those who meet the equivalent educational level requirements for admission to university master's programs. ◎ Our department does not admit applicants under Article 7 "Outstanding Achievement in Professional Field" of the Standards for Recognition of Equivalent Educational Levels for Master's Program Admission. ◎ In-service applicants must meet regular graduate student eligibility requirements and have at least two years of service at public or private institutions (not required to be at the same institution; years of service are calculated from the date of obtaining regular graduate student eligibility until the last day of the registration month in the admission year; military service period is not included). They must currently be employed and obtain proof of in-service employment from their employer. |

(1) Government Agencies
Take national examinations or state-owned enterprise examinations to work at local governments, Ocean Affairs Council, Ocean Conservation Administration (Ocean Affairs Council), Coast Guard Administration (Ocean Affairs Council), Fisheries Research Institute (Ministry of Agriculture), National Park Administration, Taiwan Power Company, etc.
(2) Secondary School Education
Pass the selection process at the on-campus Center for Teacher Education to pursue education courses and obtain secondary school teacher certification, then teach at secondary schools.
(3) Private Enterprises
- Technology Industry: Electronics manufacturing, biotechnology, medical devices, wind power generation, etc.
- Traditional Industries: Aquaculture, fisheries, ecological and recreational fishing services, etc.
- Technical Services Industry: Chemical testing, environmental assessment, pollution control, ecological surveys
