【Academic Events】TaiBIF Biodiversity Information Workshop - Kaohsiung Session
TaiBIF Biodiversity Data Workshop | Southern Taiwan Session is Here!
Ever wanted to join a workshop, but found that they were always held in Northern Taiwan?
This time, a dedicated Southern Taiwan session will be held on August 13–14 at the Department of Oceanography, National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU). This gives more participants the opportunity to learn about the applications and practical implementations of open biodiversity data together!
Don't know how to organize, publish, or share the biodiversity data in your hands?
Whether it stems from research surveys, monitoring projects, citizen science, or long-term accumulated biological records—as long as the data is properly organized, it can serve as a vital foundation for further research, conservation, and policy-making.
This workshop will guide you step-by-step through the process of handling open biodiversity data—from data cleaning and quality checks to actual publishing and application—helping render your data more accessible, reusable, and valuable.
Through hands-on exercises, this workshop will guide you to understand:
- What open biodiversity data is
- How to clean data and improve data quality
- How to acquire and utilize research-ready open data (TBIA, GBIF)
- Tools available for publishing your own open data
